Private Home Care Live In Services

Live-In or Live-Out Services for you and your family

Care that’s there 24/7!

Understanding how Live-In Care works

When there is an increased level of care, you or your aging loved one should always have the option and feeling of independence to remain in the privacy of their own home. NOTHING can replace that feeling of being home. You might be the daughter or son who has been helping mom or dad and things have just reached a point where you need a little help yourself. 24 hour home care means that a caregiver is available when needed, but that your loved one has the personal space and autonomy as if they were living alone.

Dorson Home Care provides patients and their families with continuous 24 hour/day support in the form of Live-In services.

We understand that many patients and their families may have more complex needs requiring round-the-clock care. As a result we have an a compassionate team of certified home health aides in Bergen, Essex and Morris County who are all available on either an hourly or Live-In basis.

YES.. We have our own Vocational school for training caregivers!

We are also committed to keeping your family and loved ones safe. Dorson Home Care understands that trust and compassion must be the foundation of every relationship we establish. This is why all of our staff members and home care team undergo rigorous screening prior to being hired and admitted to our home health aide training programs. This includes more than 75 hours of classroom training as well as submitting to an oath of professional conduct.

Both hourly and Live-In home health care options are available to families throughout New Jersey including Cedar Grove, Chatham, Clifton, Livingston, Montclair, and Morristown. Services with Live-In options include:

  • Baby Care
  • Geriatric/Elder Care
  • Home Health Care

Our Live-In Health Care service area includes: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic and Somerset counties in New Jersey. This includes the towns of Cedar Grove, Chatham, Clifton, Edison, Livingston, Montclair, Morristown, Alpine, Fort lee, Saddle River and many more.

Our caregives are fully certified and can offer any level of care that is needed by your aging loved ones 24 hours, 7 days a week. This type of care also takes the presser of the family and friend who are in a caregive postion currently and need the rest as well.

What is included in Live-In care?

Live-In care involves a home health aide living in the same home as your loved one. They are there to assist with activities of daily living, and they are able to accompany your loved one to any appointments or social outings outside of the home as well. Some caregivers are able to drive if that is a need for your loved one. Please tell your local office everything that you would want a Live-In caregiver to do so that they can refer a caregiver that matches those needs.

How many hours does Live-In care cover?

Though live-in care is a 24 hour service, typically the caregiver is available for 16 hours, and unavailable for 8 hours of sleep. If you are interested in 24 hour around-the-clock care, multiple caregivers would need to be referred in order to cover an entire day and ensure that somebody is awake at all times.

Does Live-In care cover 24 hour supervision?

If you choose to have 24 hour supervision, multiple caregivers will be needed. For a scenario like this, we would refer more than one caregiver to ensure that somebody is awake with your loved one at all hours of the day.

Can Live-In care be used in both short term and long term circumstances?

Yes! DorsonHome Care is able to refer Live-In caregivers for any length of time. We understand that there are times that a Live-In caregiver is needed for only a few days as well as more permanent situations.

How can I pay for Live-In care?

There are many different ways to pay for non-medical home care. If you’re interested in more information about paying for home care, please check out our ways to pay for home care guide.

What is included in overnight care?

Overnight care is when a caregiver is able to be there a few hours before your loved one goes to bed, they sleepover and are available a few times during the night in case your loved one needs help, and they are also there for a few hours when they wake up. This ensures that your loved one has the care they need during the nighttime sleeping process. If your loved one does not need care during the day, but you prefer that a caregiver be there for them at night, overnight care may be the right fit for your needs.

Does Live-In care include overnight care?

Live-In care does include overnight care. The only difference between the two is that the caregiver is present in the home for 24 hours a day during Live-In care while overnight care usually only involves a few hours before and after your loved one is sleeping.
