Since 2002, Dorson Community Foundation has been administering SAT prep courses for students in the area. They learn skills in the area of verbal and math, skills needed for the SAT. They work from a highly recommended SAT prep book and do practice tests in the book using real SAT tests from the past. Students from Orange High school, East Orange Campus High school, Union High school and Kent Place School have taken part in the SAT course and have had remarkable results on the test. Scores have gone up an average of 125 points! Some students as early as 9th grade have also attended the classes, so as one can see the course is opened to everyone of all ages not just those moving right into college (high school seniors).
