A baby nurse is a trained paraprofessional caregiver that provides unique expertise in all aspects of newborn care and parental education and support. Every newborn specialist helps nurture and care for baby, and provides guidance and education for the parent(s). This is especially beneficial to a first time mom.

Your Dorson baby nurse will assist you in the following:

Baby Nurses who work night shifts typically stay in the baby's room and manage their care while you sleep restfully in bed. When the baby wakes up, the Baby Nurse feeds by bottle or brings the baby to you for nursing. After feeding, the Baby Nurse burps, changes and settles the baby back to sleep while you go immediately back to sleep. A daytime Newborn Specialist provides similar care and also strives to create a nurturing, stimulating environment for your baby during waking hours. Both day and night Newborn Specialists document your baby's patterns and keep a log of sleeping, feeding and changing times if you wish to transition the baby to a regular schedule.

Service Requirements

Dorson Baby Care provides newborn specialists for hourly and daily(live-in) services. The minimum amount of service we provide is one week for live in care and 20 hours per week for hourly care. Baby nurses require 1 hour off for every 8 hours worked and 3 hours off for every 24 hours worked. We are happy to provide care for both single and multiple newborns. Please contact us for hourly and daily rates.

Clients Responsibilities

Call on the day of delivery to notify nurse.
Provide room and meals for nurse.
3 hrs off for every 24 hours per day.
Nurse will rest when baby sleep.

Nanny Referral Program

Dorson Baby Care takes great pride in referring only the highest quality nannies for your family. Based upon your individual needs, we select and refer a nanny to you for hire. Salaries are negotiated through the Dorson Baby Care office. The same high quality standards utilized for our baby care employees are applied to our nanny referral program.

Nurse will take total care of baby at night so mom can sleep. Our staff is here to care for you and your new born, and it should be comforting to the new mom to know that she will get deserved rest after leaving the hospital.
